THE ENIGMA THAT IS LARYN HILL

In 1997 former member of the legendary hip hop trio Fugees, Lauryn Hill, embarked on her first and only solo studio album to date the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

To this day Miss Hill is regarded as one of the most influential hip hop and neo soul artists of all time remarkably due to this one album. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill earned her 5 Grammy's including the Album of the year in 1999 and has since sold 18 million copies worldwide cementing her status as a true great.

Though Laurin Hill did not release any further official material due to her own personal issues, this body of work will continue to withstand the test of time as it theme of love&life will always resonate with the human race.

This is one of, if not my favourite track on the album……….Enjoy

Does racial profiling really exist?

Growing up in England from the age of one i've always considered myself to be British in some capacity.

I mean, this country afforded my family and i the opportunity to better ourselves and to strive for better and to dream. I even support the English national team which has caused plenty of stress to me in my 25 years.

Over the last 10 years or so I've began to see a different side to the place i consider my second home. With the emergence of an american inspired Gang culture mostly amongst ethnic minorities within inner city London over the last decade  i have seen a change in how my self and young men of colour are perceived.

In total i've been stopped by the police at least 8 times though i have never committed a single crime in my life. I used to think it was because of the way i dressed but on one occasion i was stopped when i was smartly dressed and in the company of my sister which she didn't take kindly to. With all the stories that have appeared in the press regarding gun and knife crime, i tend to believe that so many innocent y men of colour are being unfairly treated and to an extent humiliated due to the actions of a couple hooligans which is totally unfair.

I for one hate pulling out the race card but theres only so much harassment a guy can take sometimes. I recall an incident when my father was stopped when driving me to school in the morning, i can't recall what was said during the random stop but all i remember was my dad telling me to always carry my licence when i would eventually start driving. Now i understand why.

England Qualify For Brazil 2014

Being an England supporter has come with very few perks over the years. With the failure of the so called "golden generation" over the last decade or so it's been difficult to see a bright future for the English national team now that we are beggining to see a lack of top English talent emerge through a premier league dominated by foreign imports. A lot could be said for managers too. Howard wilkinson was the last English manager to lift a league title with Leeds in 1992 that alone speaks volumes of the calibre of manager that are coming through. However, I believe that in Roy Hodson England possess  a man who knows the game well having managed all over the world and who in all fairness was behind one of the best England performances I have seen for a long time against Poland. With expectations at an all time low could the 2014 World Cup be the platform where England finally shake of their tag as underachievers? You never know.

Post Ferguson

Growing up as a Manchester United supporter in the 90's and 00's I was spoiled by the trophy laden success that the great Sir Alex Ferguson brought to the theatre of dreams. After a thirteenth premier league title the great man decided it was time to hang up the old hairdryer, much to the dismay of every single Manchester United fan breathing. Ferguson recommended evertons long serving manager David moyes as his heir to the old Trafford hot seat and to be honest his reign so far has been far from inspiring. Some wonder wether he is up to the task of filling the boots of arguably Britain's greatest ever manager, I for one believe that he is. Time however always tells

Pastures New

As I embark on the latest chapter of my life which is The university of Buckingham I see how far I have come. It was only 2 years ago that I parted ways with my undergrad law degree, and at the time I thought things would never look up for me again. How wrong was I, From the moment I attended the communication Media and Journalism induction I knew this felt right. I guess only time will tell
